freedom?

hey people of the world. hows everyone? ive been hearing that u guys in uk have been falling sick. so pls pls take care of urself and dont overstress urselves on ur work and stuff yeah?



before my blog becomes any more public and formal, i thought i'd just drop a "normal" post back in.. haha..




my folks just came back from their one week holiday in dubai.. well, not really holiday la.. dad had some work to do, mom tagged along.. that kinda trip.


funny thing is this.. u know when i was younger (cheh im still young).. i'd always see my parents not being around as an oppurtunity of freedom.. and if i was able to drive, it wud be even better.


how wrong could i have ever been.



see a couple of years ago back when i was in highschool, my dad decided that our family no longer needed a maid. he thought that we were old enough to learn how to manage ourselves, to be independent, to pick up after ourselves. i had nothing against that. and we already knew how to do chores and all eventhough we had a maid.







but u see, it all changed the minute i learned how to drive.





me knowing how to drive = mom dont need to drive anymore






this year alone, my parents have been on more trips than they have been their whole lives.






years ago, i would have seen this as..

WOOOHOOO CAN GO OUT AS MUCH AS I WANT MANNN

now, in reality, it's more like..

wooo gota fetch bro and sis to school at 7am, come home do laundry, hang laundry, do dishes, sweep floor, tidy up house, tidy bedroom, take laundry down, fold clothes, pick up bro and sis, get lunch, send bro and sis to tuition, make sure bro and sis do work, get dinner, do more dishes and laundry, sleep





and repeat process for the next day.



and at the same time, i'm trying to do uni applications, get more traffic to this blog, set up a website... and the list goes on..




so much for wanting to go out.. i cant even leave the house and not worry whther my bro and sis will burn it to the ground.



haih




oh well, at least my parents are back now. the stress load cut a bit adi.



freedom is a funny thing. it's like that bird in my picture for this post.



sure you got ur air to fly in.. as long as you dont hit the buildings at the sides.







more about freedom in my next post. a really interesting debate broke out in Nuffnang's Innit chat yesterday. socialising online is a must for people bumming at home. it's friggin interesting. haha..
